HAMILTON COUNTY RANKED INDIANA’S HEALTHIEST COUNTY

Hamilton County ranked Indiana’s healthiest county

A new report calls central Indiana’s Hamilton County the state’s healthiest county and Scott County in the state’s southeastern corner the least healthy.

The findings were released Wednesday as part of a nationwide report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

Their report includes county-by-county health rankings for all 50 states.

It ranks counties by “health factors” and “health outcomes,” which includes the length and quality of life of residents.

Marion County came in 87th out of 92 counties in health factors and 80th in health outcomes.

Hamilton, Hendricks, DuBois, Boone and LaGrange counties came in among the state’s top five healthiest counties.

In the health factors category, Hamilton County ranked first and heavily industrialized Lake County in northwest Indiana came in last
