The Metropolitan Airport is located in the area and you can reach the Indianapolis International Airport in 30 minutes. Cincinnati, Louisville, and Chicago are all within 180 miles of Fishers, again, easily accessible by interstate roadways.
Fishers has a rich history dating back to June of 1872 when Salathiel Fisher divided his land into town lots. The area was formerly known as Fishers Station and originally as Fishers Switch. New communities in this time period would spring up along railroads and Fishers was no exception, hence the early reference to a train station or switch. The Fishers Train Station, located in the heart of town, is home of the Fishers Chamber of Commerce and the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
